After his grandmother dies, young Buqiong is heartbroken. He clings to her last gift: a silver Tibetan knife without a sheath. She promised they would meet again in the sacred land of “Shambhala.” She told him that the person who brings the matching sheath would be her reincarnation.
To find her, Buqiong runs away from his broken home. He is joined by Wangmu, a little half-sister born from his father’s betrayal. As they trek through the wild, Buqiong’s alcoholic mother and pregnant sister chase after them. Along the way, the family is forced to face their old hatreds and deep scars.
At a remote temple, they discover the truth: Wangmu’s sheath fits Buqiong’s knife perfectly. Buqiong realizes that his grandmother’s “pact” was a act of mercy. She didn’t return from the dead; instead, she used the journey to bring the family together. By protecting the sister he once resented, Buqiong finds the redemption and love his grandmother always wanted for him.
