The 18-year-old skater Noah faces emotional ruin when his father disowns him for failing to graduate from school. While his friends finish school and plan their futures, Noah has to repeat his final year. This fills him with the fear that he may only have one last summer with his friends before they all go their separate ways. He is particularly troubled by the growing distance from his best friend Finn, who is already pulling away and threatens to cut off contact entirely after the summer.
Noah’s friend group also includes his on-and-off girlfriend Maja. While Noah hopes for a committed relationship, Maja values her freedom and shows increasing interest in other friends of his. The boys spend a sweltering summer together, marked by boredom, skating, and excessive drinking.
The situation escalates when a shady photographer tempts Noah and his friends with an immoral proposition. Noah’s deepest fears come to the surface as he is exposed and isolated. Surprisingly, he finds unexpected solace with the photographer, who uses photographing boys as a way to cope with his own losses.
