Bench Seat is based on a true story of many people’s lives but with some pretty intense details of the musician and actor (Chase Rice), as well as one of his best friends who almost killed himself 3 years ago. Thankfully, he didn’t go through with his thought of suicide because of his dog. This video shows the opposite and what life would’ve been like if he had gone through with it. What makes this song special when paired with this visual is that the song is through the dog’s perspective. It also gives a very interesting twist at the end that most people don’t expect. We hope that this video opens the conversations of suicide, addiction, and mental health. Our goal is to make an impact and raise awareness about those topics and get people the help they need.
