Lucimara, a religious and altruistic woman, adopts a girl scarred by parental abuse, determined to provide the maternal affection the child never received. Their new lives as a family, however, take a dark turn when the girl seems to awaken in Lucimara perverse feelings that neither of them can comprehend.
