Best Short Narrative
Fairy Dust is a gritty black comedy set in 1970s America. Leslie, a self-aware hippie with a sharp tongue, is caught selling drugs and given a choice: prison or working with the police. She opts to cooperate and is handed a mysterious batch of seized narcotics nicknamed “fairy dust.” As she reenters the underworld, Leslie crosses paths with a strange young man whose charm hides something far darker. Their encounters grow shorter, tenser, and more intimate – until the power dynamic flips and the truth hits harder than any trip.
